It’s time to take a break from outrage and post some bits of life here on this island for those of you who actually like sharing my life with me.
I’ve written before about the wonderful people with whom I’m blessed to spend time … a smart, funny, lovely and international gang … and as it goes here, new people join in as others move along.
Going away get-togethers are a bittersweet aspect of Seychelles living, and I’ve been to a few lately. The other night was such an event … Violeta is leaving for some months … so a dinner at Sam’s Pizzeria was on the plate.
As always, many countries were represented, and if the UN could do half the job around the table at creating global warm fuzzies as we do the world would be a much better place.
Check out the smiling faces …

Me and Sam ... that's the US, Seychelles and Cambodia

Deb ... a Yorkshire lass ... and Cj

Violeta, from Serbia

Laura is Italian

Nathalie is from Lebanon

Lio and Carlos ... that's France listening to Spain

Sandra, what do you do in Seychelles?
Go to the beach … eat a lot of fish … that sort of thing … 😉
Love it – wish I were there.
Me, too, Lisa …
Too bad I would only add another American….but I’m there in spirit and missing you.
Your kids are beautiful……it strikes me everytime I see the pics.
Oh, how gloriously multinational/cultural! What a magical place Seychelles must be. Mark and I are hoping to get orders overseas next year. I am hoping the air fare from wherever that may be to Seychelles is manageable. 🙂
We will drink margaritas together someday.
I certainly hope so, Lisa!!!!!!!
just spent a few days in SEZ, now back in the US…my kids got to see SEZ 1st time this summer…they know that pizzeria well and loved Anse Soleil beach. Reading ur posts brings me back to our beautiful islands in the sun…missing them. Great place to have grown up. Would love to move back in my twilight years. Thx for keeping us connected Sandra!
My pleasure, Esme. Next time you’re at Anse Soleil, drop in and say hi!
Awesome, beautiful pictures (BTW, “Violetta” is the name of my best friend’s Polish expat wife). I would love to see more cultural diversity here in East Tennessee. It’s starting to happen, slowly but surely (mostly localized in the West Knoxville/Farragut area).
I have a daughter in Raleigh, NC, so know the area a bit …
